We researched the SDGs during last year’s school festival. At that time, the SDGs were not covered on TV or in the newspapers as much as they are now, and people around us , including our families and other classmates, didn’t know about the SDGs.
So we realized that we needed Goal 0 in addition to the 17 goals.
“We are all SDGsers from now on.“
This is our idea of Goal 0.
“SDGser” means “friends who work together to achieve the SDGs”.
First of all, we called for people to know about the SDGs and to look for something related the SDGs around them.
This time, from the perspective of school lunches, which have been familiar to us, we were able to think and deepen our awareness of local and international issues. And we realized that school lunches can be a tool to help us to solve the problems we are facing today. In other words, the things that are really close to us can be the gateway to achieve the SDGs.
That’s why we are proposing Goal 18.
“Open the door to the new world in everyday life!“
Isn’t it surprising that school lunches can help improve sustainability education in developed countries and support in developing countries at the same time? I’m sure you’ve all eaten school lunches at least once. The key to a sustainable society lies in these familiar places. If each of us takes action in small ways, the road to achieving the SDGs may become more realistic.
Let’s try to find a gateway to achieving this goal in the little things of everyday life!!!
