The limestone cave, which was discovered 250 million years ago, still remains, and the average annual temperature inside the cave is about 18 degrees Celsius, so it is a spot where you can feel the coolness even in the summer. 365BASE The most stylish lodging facility in Hamamatsu / outdoor

What place?

365BASE was born in July 2015 in Hikuma-cho, Hamamatsu City.

In 2017, we took advantage of the concept of a shared house and set up the accommodation as a guest house.

In our interview, we talked to Mr. Furuhashi, the representative of a real estate and hotel business. He proposes that people can enjoy a comfortable time in Hamamatsu, full of creativity and excitement, with the awareness that “something must change.”

365BASE

A former company dormitory has been converted into a guest house for families and foreign backpackers. In Tokyo, there are many similar outdoor houses, and while 90% of the guests are foreign tourists, but he wanted to create a hotel in a different way, so we set up bouldering and indoor camping facilities, and the fact that many companies are cooperating with us through our local connections is one of our strengths. We are developing a guesthouse with a customer base of 30% foreign tourists and 70% Japanese tourists, mainly families.

FROM Abroad !!

Introducing the travel objectives of foreign tourists who visit 365BASE on a daily basis.

Asian people

Western people

Stay one to two months. 1 to 2 months

I mainly came to watch concerts by popular Japanese and Korean idol groups and rugby matches! And…

Hamamatsu is located right in the middle of Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto.

This makes

In Hamamatsu, a stopover station on the Tokaido Shinkansen

You can have a “short break” in Hamamatsu before going to Kansai! That’s why some people extend their stay or check the guide map for foreigners in advance.

Green Park

As a representative of the Re-Public Hamamatsu Association, Mr. Furuhashi started a project called “Green Park” to set up benches made of artificial grass and tenryu wood in the basement plaza under Hamamatsu Station’s north exit, and to make the “entrance to Hamamatsu” a suitable place for a limited period of one year.

At the same time, Mr. Furuhashi said he wanted to create a facility that would fit in with the times, but at the same time, he said, “I thought we should change the situation where a desolate space is the entrance to the city,” and that’s how this project came about.

-The Green Park Effect-

I. Twitter retweets from outside the prefecture (sharing useful information found on Twitter to your followers only)The information spreads.→ news and newspapers. Increased name recognition.

Ⅱ. Appearance and atmosphere have changed → Improvement. The number of stalls has increased.

Ⅲ. Increase in the number of bench users → Smaller crowd

The Future of Green Park-

Green Park is a project with a limited duration of one year only.

Work with Hamamatsu Southern Cross south of the station to create a conduit for the Hoshi-no-ichi (the second Sunday market of each month).

The illumination will be installed in December.

These two points were raised by Mr Furuhashi.

Green Park is located in the basement square at the north exit of the station. Why don’t you take a look at this park when you visit Hamamatsu Station?

What Mr. Furuhashi wants from Hamamatsu

The strengths of Hamamatsu are (1) our focus on venture businesses

(2) Selected by the government as Japan’s version of Silicon Valley, following Tokyo, Yokohama, and Nagoya.

(3) Land is cheaper than in Tokyo.

The new coronavirus has caused many companies to relocate from Tokyo to other parts of the country, and another major change is that there is no longer a need to be in Tokyo due to the increase in telework.

Mr. Furuhashi’s thoughts on issues in Hamamatsu

・catchphrase

We need a new tagline that is easy to succeed.Cut out the outdated ones and replace them with ones that fit today.

・Integration of Technologies

Instead of clinging to the old, we should be discovering new things and merging them with the new.

Manufacturing with AI.

What Mr. Furuhashi asks of young people

Mr. Furuhashi said that Hamamatsu is a midpoint between a city blessed with nature, an ordinance-designated city, and Tokyo’s Osaka, and by making good use of these three cities, Hamamatsu’s revitalization will be further advanced.

In order to change the city, we need an opportunity for change. We asked him about two things that young people, who will be the future of Hamamatsu, are expected to do now.

1 To raise the question of what the image of revitalization in Hamamatsu is, and to think about what we can do from there.

2 Actively participate in volunteer activities.

It would be nice if a small opportunity would spread to the whole town, and the small ripples generated from it would continue to spread to the whole town as big ripples.

Our Proposal

In this situation, we have created the “Hamamatsu work at home” cycle. You can work from home in an apartment near Hamamatsu Station, and when you have to go to the office, you can immediately take the bullet train to get there. Hamamatsu has lower rents than the city center, and in 2018, it was ranked the happiest city in Japan “Happiness Ranking” as the best place to live. Hamamatsu is a very perfect place to move to.
